Enterprise rental car charging more than what we settled on?
I started renting a vehicle from Enterprise rent-a-car on March 24th, 2010, but I brought my vehicle back on April 5th, 2010. During that time the insurance was responsible for the payments and tax while I was responsible for insurance of the rental car itself. The first day being full coverage and the second and rest of the time of my rental car (upto April 5th) being just full coverage minus the liability (I'm using my liability insurance) which was around $12/day.
I was responsible from the day I rented the vehicle upto April 5th, 2010 which was also the day the insurance ended their payment and my friend took over the payment which started on April 6th until April 12th 2010.
I'm responsible for ~$190. Enterprise was holding the $250 on my credit card. I paid $150 and Enterprise reversed the $190 back to my credit card leaving me with $60, which was charged on my credit card. $150 + $60 = $210. My question is where did the $20 go? And why is enterprise charging me $20 more when I already paid $150, the enterprise should be charging me $40 to complete the $190.
Isn't the rental car suppose to HOLD the deposit and not charge it? Because that's what happened and after the payment of $150, they reversed back $190 (out of $250). We (me and Enterprise employee) both agreed that the remaining $40 would be due on Monday. So if the $40 due date isn't valid, what gives?
I'm now being billed $60 in my credit card. Is Enterprise at fault?
I can't call 'em because it's 6:40PM PST and they're closed for the day.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
